With a delayed screening date on our short film project, Abi Goes Shopping, for First Choice Homes I was able to take a bit more time on the edit, shoot some more footage and have an enjoyable morning with Brian at the Oldham archives sourcing images of old Hollinwood. There was a really good turn-out at the screening a couple of weeks ago and a great response to the film, especially from the client – looking forward to working with them again soon. The feature doc has been selected for the Mini Meet Market funding forum at next week’s Sheffield Doc / Fest – where I’m also a press delegate as usual – be fun to wear both hats at the same time this year and write up the festival from ‘film-maker with project’ POV… watch this space. Also got some fabulous HD footage of work arriving and being installed at the new Hepworth Wakefield gallery; this almost completes shooting on this two year project to document the gallery’s construction and installation, and some great themes emerging – can’t wait to get into the edit on this one. And finally, I nailed another frenzied 24 hour shoot/edit/DVD delivery job of the annual R&T tournaments down in Kent for Accent Partners – keeps me on my toes!
