The successful completion of the six month project for First Choice Homes enabled me to focus on producing the 4th Chapel Allerton Short Film Festival with Noel and Lucy as well as turning in a couple of articles for Film & Festivals Magazine. Really pleased with the way the film festival turned out, especially the standard of film production coming out of north Leeds alone, notably the fabulous Chapeltown set We Are Poets, which is currently doing the rounds and won an award at Sheffield Doc/Fest. Also in the line up was 2011 Oscar nominee Wish 143, again made and set in Leeds. Talking of Doc/Fest, my feature project was short-listed for a pitching forum with a panel of TV execs and commissioners – think I’m getting the hang of this bit now ! Otherwise it was the usual packed agenda of meetings, workshops and networking events. Finally, we’ve just delivered a series of videos for regular client Leeds Council, this time as part of an online campaign to promote Kirkgate Market, the largest under cover in Europe. With my regular teaching commitments and more commissions lined up before the end of the year things show no sign of slowing down just yet.
